The process of growing and cultivating things could pretty much be described as the primary focus of our life with Jacob, from growing a large proportion of our food, both animal and vegetable, to helping grow and nourish human minds – in the classroom, in our homes, and even with the help of this blog.
(These are the cucumber plants that Jacob started in flats for our garden this year).
Not to state the obvious, but, to me, participating in growing things has mostly taken the form of being a mother. (Translation: I suck at gardening).
I love to observe the unfolding of this growing life force, especially where tiny human beings are concerned, and participating in it directly brings me infinite joy. Which is why I am delighted to share with you that I am now pregnant with the newest addition! A large – larger than average – family has been our goal from the very beginning, with the tentative number of future children hovering somewhere around four or five, so, at least for now, things have been going according to the plan.
Which brings me to the following point – do you have favorite baby names? Perhaps the ones you always wanted to use but never got the chance to? I’d love to hear them!
